As sponsors of the young national chef of the year competition, organized by the craft guild of chefs, Sodiaal UK had the opportunity to gift a prize to the winner.
As a dairy cooperative close to our roots and our regions, it made sense to invite Sam, and our ambassador Tristan to the beautiful Auvergne region where our Douceur de France butter is crafted in Clermont Ferrand.
The chefs enjoyed a farm visit at the foot of the beautiful Puy de Dome, where they had the opportunity to see the 50 cows that make up the herd of this family farm, currently manned by the third generation of farmers.
After a chat with the family about cows diet and lifestyle, they watched the manual milking process and feeding.
This trip was also the opportunity to make them discover some French local and honest cuisine, with various stops in boulangeries, produce market, and a farm to table sustainable restaurant well known for “volcanic cuisine” in Clermont Ferrand.
